Tie rod as standard for the E34 model. Used in CNC71 to E30, E46, E36 swivel kits.
A side steering rod with an end piece connects the steering gear (steering gear) directly with the steering knuckle. The function of the steering rod is to transfer the force which is converted from the rotation of the steering wheel by the steering gear to horizontal linear motion to the wheels.
All bars undergo rigorous durability tests. A damaged steering rod may drift the vehicle off the road, excessive tire wear (shearing) and result in the inability to adjust the suspension geometry, which has a large impact on driving safety. One symptom of damage to the joystick may be knocking noise heard when vigorously moving the steering wheel while stationary.
